Mcdo or Jollibee?

Mcdo and Jollibee are the leading fastdfood chains in the Philippines. These are the top choices we think of whenever we consider party places for our kids. I myself thought of these two as my top choices for my children’s birthday party. Aside from the fact that kids really love these places, having a party with these fast-food restaurants is economical. We are sure that the food taste good and at the same time affordable. I did some research and was given tons of option.

As a parent it’s really hard and nerve-racking to plan for parties for your kids, so I created this blog to help parents like me decide. I celebrated my 1^st born’s 7^th birthday in Mcdonald’s  and celebrated my 2^nd born’s 1^st bday in Jollibee.

How did I came up with Mcdo and Jollibee? First, I considered the location. I was looking for fast-food chains that can provide a kiddie party nearby. We live in Antipolo and based on my research, I had shortlisted Shakey’s, Savory and few Jollibee branches and Mcdo.

Next thing I compared, are the prices for the party packages. Since my daughter’s 7^{th birthday} party will have around 100 heads, I was looking for the most affordable package. And these info is what I have gathered:

Shakey’s

*all packages have free Ice tea and 34” Pizza and party amenities for 30 kids

*My choice of food is Package B (additional P190/head) - 1 pc Chicken, Spag, 1 slice pizza, 2 mojos and 1 cup ice cream

*For 100 pax package will sum up to P31,700 (P26,000 + 190/head*30 additional)

Savory

*I was eyeing for 70 adults and 30 kids = Total of P32,300

(Package A P335/head for 70 Adults =P 23,450.00) (Package B P295/head for 30 kids=P8,850)

Jollibee

*you can book a party online and create your own food combos(www.http://jollibeeparty.com)

* additional P2,500 for party amenities + my choice of food as seen above photo (P P21,970.00)

Mcdo

*My food choice Food Mix 2 and additional fries (P33) and sundae (P30) for 100 pax

*additional P3,000 for party amenities inclusive of mascot appearance

* total cost for 100 pax is P26,800.00

 So based on prices, Jollibee and Mcdo are the most affordable. I checked the locations and Savory near Antipolo OLPGV church is the least spacious. Savory also has a branch in SM Masinag but it was not big enough to accommodate 100 pax too. I crossed it out of my list and considered Shakeys, Jollibee and Mcdo instead. I checked Mcdo and Jollibee near Antipolo Church and both branches can only accommodate 50 pax. But they suggested Mcdo in SM Masinag and Filinvest.  Jollibee on the other hand suggested their branch in Masinag and Ligaya.

Location wise I was looking into Masinag area since my daughter’s 7h bday will also be celebrated together with my 2^nd born’s baptism which will be held in St Therese Church in Masinag. Mcdo across the church located at the 2nd floor of SM Masinag is very spacious. My niece celebrated her first birthday there and to be quite honest, I didn’t really like how it was decorated. It looked like a “bodega” with small white stage in the middle. It was barely decorated I must say. Though, the activity was fun and Mcdo toys have really good quality and are really nice too.

Photo above was taken during my niece’s 1^st bday @ Mcdo SM Masinag on June 2015. The area was really spacious, enough to accommodate even 200 pax, But chairs were piled on the side and the only decoration are the white lanterns for the lights and the balloons scattered all around the floor. For me, it was poorly decorated but it was fun nonetheless, The hosts were very entertaining and courteous. The giveaways was generously given aside from the prizes for the games, toys  were given to kids even to adults as there were too many.

                                                       

My husband and I agreed to choose Mcdo Filinvest for now and maybe try Jollibee or other fastfood chains for the future. Why are we sticking on fastfood chains? Because it is pretty convenient, if you do not have time to plan and cook for a party this is the best way to go. Hosts will take care of the guests and preparation is less hassle and packages like this are affordable too. A blog will be created for the preparation of my princess’ 7^th bday celebration(slash baptismal of 2^nd baby) . And another blog for my 2^nd daughter’s 1^st bday which was held 6 months later @ Jollibee Ligaya.

We celebrated my first born’s 7^th birthday @ Mcdo Filinvest on March 2016. The place is decorated well with lots of balloons and banderitas. The atmosphere was really in the party zone, very colorful and happy! The place is clean and it accommodated all the guests, though some were seated in the dining area at the back but still room was big enough to play games. It was really fun. The hosts did well with the games and facilitating the program. The package price was reasonable and sulit! We had a lot of freebies, Aside from the Mcdo figures as shown on the pic above, a scooter was also given to us complete with safety pads and helmet. My daughter really liked it a lot, as seen in her face J
